About the Journal

  AIM & SCOPE 
 
RECINATUR Intl. Journal of Applied Sciences, Nature and Tourism  is an academic/scientific journal that seeks to publish high quality research publications in various areas, including interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary fields. The Journal has three major headings under which papers are grouped: i) Social and Applied Sciences, with special focus on subjects relating to tourism; ii) Humanities; and, iii) Environmental and Nature Sciences. Innovation and Technology. All papers accepted for publication are expected to offer significant contributions and scientific advances to their respective fields. It is published twice a year. RECINATUR Journal is an open access Journal published by the International Iberian-American Foundation for Science, Nature and Tourism (RECINATUR), a network of experts and academic/institutional partners, in countryspecific branches of RECINATUR in Mexico, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Portugal and Spain, though its legal international headquarters is located in Chile with administrative offices both in Chile and Ecuador. It is a Foundation for promoting research, cultural and institutional debate and projects, as well as development and advances in Academia, benefitting both people and the environment.
 
RECINATUR Foundation is committed to publishing excellent, original articles and research through a double-blind peer-reviewed process. Articles can be published in English, Spanish or in Portuguese, on subjects and issues within the scope of the Journal. All articles must be original and unpublished, not simultaneously submitted to another Journal. No handling fees are charged at any time or in any case for publication. The Journal is part of the RECINATUR network’s objectives, aimed at creating and promoting knowledge and research. 2. Pre-submission Checklist

Authors are advised to make use of this checklist before submitting your articles to RECINATUR Journal which will ensure fast processing and easy proceedings. 

Research papers address research questions through methodological proceedings looking for empirical evidences. This type of papers has as a mission to promote substantial advance in understanding an important problem and have immediate and far-reaching implications. A usual research paper does not exceed 6,000 - 7,000 words excluding references, tables, and legends to figures. It is usually structured as: Introduction, Materials and Methods or Methodology, Literature Review, Results or Statistical Analysis, Discussion, Conclusion, Limitations and Recommendations, and References. Other than the above, the text may have additional subheadings that should not affect the flow. Abstract, Reference, Bibliography are also essential are discussed in the author guidelines. Other types of papers such as 'review papers', 'academic/scientific essays', 'short research communication', are also accepted for publication in the Journal. Please, check the guidelines for details and also consider as follows:

  • Author(s) and co-authors complete information such as Names, Surnames, Email address (for the correspondence), institutional affiliation with country, and physical address(es), etc.;
  • A corresponding author with active e-mail must be identified in the article;
  • The maximum number of authors and co-authors cannot exceed 5 (five) in total per article. If the article is the result of a project with many participants and, or, Institutions, etc., their names must be mentioned in the Acknowledgments Section;
  • Abstract/Summary with Keywords (p.s.: if the article is not in English, an Abstract and Keywords must be provided in this language);
  • Figures, Tables are properly captioned;
  • Uploading a Microsoft Word 2007 (or more) version file or an odt. Libre Office file (similar to .doc) and, or, with supporting related files (if any);
  • The referencing and citation system adopted by RECINATUR Journal is APA style 6th Edition. All papers must be properly and entirely formatted according to APA 6th version. Authors interested in submitting their papers can check for APA style sources, manuals, samples, etc. on the internet.   • A short Cover Letter duly filled with the name of 3 (three) potential reviewers and their Institutions and contacts (e-mails, etc.). It will be discretionary to the Editorial Board to decide wether to approach the appointed reviewers;
  • Spell checked and formatted/referenced as per the guidelines. Language proofreading by a qualified professional person is mandatory for all articles either in English, Spanish or in Portuguese, and this will be the authors’ responsibility to cope with as a condition to have accepted papers/articles published. Only quality papers/articles approved by reviewers and free of language inconsistencies will be finally accepted for publication;
  • Acknowledgments, conflict of interest, Funding information are filled (if applicable);
  • Permissions for using copyrighted materials are mandatory whereas applicable. RECINATUR Foundation, and its editorial and scientific boards, are not responsible at any point and at any circumstances for any infringements or legal charges related to copyrighted material used by authors and co-authors in their articles. The authors themselves will be in charge of clearing and solving any issue related to copyrights;
  • Authors must strictly pay attention to ethics issues in their papers/articles. This is mandatory to have their articles published at RECINATUR Journal. Refer to item 2.1 on Publication ethics;
  • Plagiarism will not be tolerated and is considered an academic dishonesty; it is a misconduct. Among many forms of plagiarism, ‘text recycling’ and ‘self-plagiarism’ are some of them. Authors must pay attention to these aspects and must cite sources, etc., accordingly in their articles. Refer to item 2.2 on Plagiarism Policy.
