Abstract
The world faces urgent challenges such as environmental degradation, climate change, conflict, and deepening social inequalities. As a transdisciplinary field, evaluation has become crucial for promoting systemic changes. Based on interviews with 19 international experts, this study explores the role of evaluation in supporting these changes. The study concludes that evaluation can contribute significantly to systemic changes by providing evidence and recommendations for designing solutions and adjusting strategies. However, it is essential to adopt innovative and systemic approaches, equity, social justice, and sustainability as criteria and new technologies for data collection and continuous learning to maximize its effectiveness.
