Abstract

A tristeza cross-protected clone of ‘Tahiti’ lime (Citrus latifolia Tanaka), named CNPMF-01 premunized, was evaluated in a plot of twenty trees planted at the Estação Experimental de Citricultura de Bebedouro (EECB) in 1989. The rootstock was Cleopatra mandarin (C. reshni Hort. ex Tan.) and tree spacing was 7 x 5 m. Data of fruit yield were collected from 1991 until 1998, except 1993. Tree height and canopy diameter were measured in 1992, 1994, 1996, and 1998. The ratio between mean yield (1991 to 1998) and area under canopy projection in 1998 was obtained and named as productivity index. The trees of CNPMF-01 premunized were vigorous, and with a canopy diameter greater than the tree height. The conformation index was higher than those found for Tahiti IAC-5 clone. Thus, the trees of CNPMF-01 premunized were slightly round shaped. Total yield of CNPMF-01 premunized was high surpassing the average yield of the IAC-5 clone. Also, the productivity index was greater than that found for IAC-5. CNPMF-01 premunized is a superior clone of acid lime suitable for planting in Bebedouro region.
