Resumo

Este estudo teve como objetivo comparar os lados direito e esquerdo em relação aos movimentos dos membros superiores, atividade muscular e descarga de peso sobre a mesa durante uma atividade simulada de digitação em computadores do tipo desktop e notebook. Quinze estudantes universitárias foram avaliadas durante uma atividade simulada de digitação com duração de cinco minutos nos dois tipos de computador, em ordem aleatorizada. A atividade muscular dos músculos trapézio superior e deltóide anterior foram registrados bilateralmente por meio de eletromiografia. Os movimentos do ombro foram avaliados por meio de inclinômetros e os movimentos do punho e cotovelo foram medidos através da eletrogoniômetros. A descarga de peso do antebraço foi avaliada por células de carga colocadas sob a superfície da mesa. Não houve diferença entre os diferentes tipos de computadores durante a atividade de digitação, porém houve maior sobrecarga musculoesquelética no membro superior direito. Portanto, medidas preventivas e estratégias ergonômicas visando reduzir a assimetria durante o uso de computadores são necessárias.

Abstract

This study aimed to compare the right and left sides in relation to the movements of the upper limbs, muscle activity and weight bearing on the table during a simulated activity of typing on the computer desktop and notebook. Fifteen university students were evaluated during five minutes of simulated typing activity in both types of computers. The evaluation order was randomized. Upper trapezius and anterior deltoid activation were recorded bilaterally by surface electromyography. Shoulder movements were assessed by inclinometers, wrist and elbow movements were measured using electrogoniometers. Forearm weight discharge was evaluated by load cells placed under the table surface. There was no difference between the different types of computers during the activity of typing, but musculoskeletal load was higher in the right upper limb. Therefore, preventive measures and ergonomic strategies to reduce the asymmetry between limbs in the use of computers are required.

Resumen

Este estudio tuvo como objetivo comparar los lados derecho e izquierdo en relación con los movimientos de las extremidades superiores, la actividad muscular y el soporte de peso sobre la mesa durante una actividad de escritura simulada en computadoras de escritorio y portátiles. Quince estudiantes universitarias fueron evaluadas durante una actividad de mecanografía simulada que duró cinco minutos en ambos tipos de computadoras, en orden aleatorio. La actividad muscular del trapecio superior y deltoides anterior se registró bilateralmente mediante electromiografía. Los movimientos del hombro se evaluaron mediante inclinómetros y los movimientos de la muñeca y el codo se midieron mediante electrogoniómetros. EL descargar de peso de antebrazo el era evaluado poner células de carga colocado debajo de la superficie de la mesa. No hubo diferencia entre los diferentes tipos de computadoras durante la actividad de mecanografía, sin embargo hubo mayor sobrecarga musculoesquelética en el miembro superior derecho. Por tanto, son necesarias medidas preventivas y estrategias ergonómicas encaminadas a reducir la asimetría durante el uso del ordenador.
