MUDANÇA ESTRUTURAL NA INDÚSTRIA ALIMENTAR: UM SURVEY SOBRE TENDÊNCIAS À CONCENTRAÇÃO

Resumo

Este artigo trata das mudanças ocorridas na indústria alimentar mundial com ênfase específica na evolução recente da União Européia. A mudança estrutural em curso nessa indústria tem sido profundamente afetada pelo processo de globalização, principalmente em termos de integração das áreas e mudanças institucionais as quais tem criado um ambiente favorável para o aumento do comércio e investimento. A análise contém um survey da literatura recente sobre padrão de transformação afetando a indústria alimentar à luz das novas condições de concorrência e acesso a mercado. O argumento básico é de que a mudança estrutural na indústria alimentar mundial rumo à concentração está associado às tendências gerais do comércio e investimento direto estrangeiro, além da integração de mercado, o surgimento das marcas próprias no segmento varejista e finalmente as estratégias de marketing e inovação adotadas pelas firmas.
