Retornos diretos e alocativos da educação e a demanda educacional familiar para crianças do meio rural no Brasil

Resumo

Este trabalho examina alguns dos principais aspectos das decisões educa- cionais tomadas por pequenos produtores do Brasil, aliados a alguns fatores econômi- cos que influenciam a alocação de recursos para incrementar o capital humano dos seus filhos. Taxas de retorno da educação de 14% a 15% foram significativamente mais al- tas do que as anterionnente estudadas, indicando melhoria na tradição dos pequenos produtores na tomada de decisões. Evidências de escolaridade, uso de insumos moder- nos, contatos externos e migração poderão provar sua importância para futuras políti- cas. Finalmente, a demanda por educação poderá aumentar a renda em função do de- senvolvimento econômico dentro e fora da agricultura.
