Objetivo: Refletir sobre o emprego de intervenções espirituais e métodos de aconselhamento psicológico, teológico e psicoterápico aplicáveis à enfermagem.
Método: Artigo de reflexão teórica, identificando aproximações e distanciamentos de métodos de aconselhamento e intervenções espirituais com a Teoria do Cuidado Humano, de Jean Watson.
Resultados: A análise crítica de métodos de aconselhamento psicológico, teológico e pscioterápico indica aproximações com a Teoria do Cuidado Humano, promovendo o aprimoramento de intervenções espirituais direcionadas a pacientes em quimioterapia.
Conclusão: A partir da Teoria de Jean Watson emergiu um aconselhamento criativo, original e único na enfermagem.
Implicações para a prática: A compreensão acerca de métodos de aconselhamento e intervenções espirituais constituem importantes ferramentas para a prática de enfermagem oncológica, bem como potencializam os recursos de que dispõe para integrar espiritualidade e saúde.
