Este estudo qualitativo tem abordagem teórica na História Nova e na História Imediata, partindo da descrição e da primeira tentativa de interpretação em essência da enfermagem gerontológica no âmbito do Hospital Escola São Francisco de Assis - HESFA e do Projeto de Assistência Integral à Pessoa Idosa.

The theoretical approach of this qualitative study lies in the new History and in the instant History, starting from the description of and first attempt to understand the essence of Gerontological Nursing at Hospital Escola São Francisco de Assis - HESFA and the Project for Global Care of the Elderly Person.
