A autora faz uma explanação mostrando a importância das articulações sociais que se estabelecem entre as prática de enfermagem (ensinar, pesquisar e fazer enfermagem) e as políticas de saúde. Estas relações são dialéticas e permitem compreender os avanços e os limites para refazê-los e transpô-los. Mas esta postura de abertura da profissão para o mundo político-social é muitas vezes negada pelos profissionais da saúde e da enfermagem, o que limita a compreensão do direito à cidadania. Conclui apontando os espaços e situações possíveis de atuação dos enfermeiros com vistas à retificações e mudanças.

<p>The author shows the importance of social articulations established between nursing practice (teaching, research and nursing) and health policies. These relationships are dialectic and allow the understanding of the improvements and limits, in order to find ways to overcome them. This opening posture regarding the social-political world, is often neglected by health/nursing professionals, what limits the comprehension of the citizenship right. She concludes pointing out possible spaces and situations for nurses' actions, aiming at implementing changes.</p>
